At times you were a man of questionable character, but there is no denying you were a one of a kind owner. Your impact on baseball's economics was massive, and you did whatever it took to win. You understood that baseball is a form of entertainment, and that in order to make money you have to spend money. You went after and signed the biggest stars in baseball, starting with Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, and Dave Winfield. By most accounts you were a scumbag to some and charitable to others. The kind of person that fired an employee (with a family) for getting you the wrong sandwich at lunch, but also donating to many charities on the down low. But again all you wanted to do was win, so if you are a Yankee's fan, then it's understandable why you would love him. A larger than life character in the game of baseball, who always held his people accountable for their on field performance. Maybe The Hall of Fame will call your name.
